The Broncos flirtation with Matt Cassell didn't work, but they did add another quarterback to the mix. Former Bucs and Titans QB Chris Simms signed a 2 year deal worth $6 million but back up the crybaby Jay Cutler. Simms had plenty of suitors and unless Cutler refuses to come out of the house and play SImms will be on the bench in Denver. There was some discussion earlier that he could get a chance to start in Chicago but that didn't pan out. The Titans wanted him back but with Kerry Collins and Vince Young around there wasn't much space.
As for Cutler is has been said already by plenty of others, but he needs to shut up...
The Bears have resigned running back Kevin Jones to a 2 year $3.5 million deal with $2 million to sign. The former first round pick who had a good rookie year has seen injuries ruin those bright lights and is now a solid backup and chose to stay in Chicago over going to Buffalo to be the #2 man...
The Bears quickly waded into free agency and got themselves a tackle for $14 million over 4 years... who you ask? Former Panther tackle Frank Omiyale.... again who you ask? The 4 year vet has started just one NFL game. Got to love free agency, hope they know something...
