The Eagles have fond their short term replacement to Brian Dawkins having signed former Browns safety Sean Jones to a one year deal. The safeties are not doing so well in free agency this year. The Dolphins paid well for Gibril Wilson and resigning Yeremiah Bell but other than that it has been much quieter and cheaper. That isn't good considering it isn't real strong spot in the draft either. There are some second and third round guys with potential, but not a lot of excitement... The Broncos just keep on signing guys... this time it's Dolphins CB Andre Goodman to a 5 year $25 million deal with $10 million guaranteed. He will replace Dre' Bly who was released and start opposite Champ Bailey, meaning he will get his chances to earn his money. Goodman had a career high 5 interceptions last year... The Broncos continue their opening day splash adding former Patriots WR Jabar Gaffney and Dolphins safety Renaldo Hill. Each got $10 million over 4 years. The Broncos are undergoing a major overhaul, switching to a 3-4 and the offensive will be opened up more providing the need for more depth at receiver. Gaffney is an obvious choice coming from New England where he never made a big name for himself but got the job done very well. He is a good addition knowing the offense and his role in it... The Dlphins are set at safety now after retaining Yeremiah Bell with a 4 year deal worth $20 million, half of it guaranteed and signing former Raiders and Giants safety Gibril Wilson to s 5 year $27 million deal. ... The Dolphins continue keeping their own by resigning LB Channing Crowder ahead of the start of free agency... The Dolphins removed another tackle from the market signing right tackle Vernon Carey to a 6 year $42 million deal. That makes for a very expensive pair of bookends, but they are good. The rest of the market is thinning and those who are left are seeing $$$ signs...
