We would like to send our condolences to Bills QB Trent Edwards who suffered a great loss today... his sanity. In an amazing announcement the Buffalo Bills have signed T.O. - Terrible Owens to a one year $6.5 million deal that is fully guaranteed!
So T.O. in little ole Buffalo? He should fit right in there eh? Th Bills wanted to upgrade themselves at receiver and take the opposing defenses focus off Lee Evans, well they succeeded, congratulations to them, sort of. Owens is a talent, spectacular in his own mind, but we are lost to figure out how he will fit in here. Give his loud mouth piece credit for finding him a job, and quicker than even he predicted, though when only the Bills called how long could he wait to take their offer...
The Bears have resigned running back Kevin Jones to a 2 year $3.5 million deal with $2 million to sign. The former first round pick who had a good rookie year has seen injuries ruin those bright lights and is now a solid backup and chose to stay in Chicago over going to Buffalo to be the #2 man...
Get this the Raiders are saying they are not interested in T.O. - how about that, could it be they have possibly learned? No that couldn't be it. Want an even more odd destination... how about the Bills. Could the Patriots consider a combo of Randy and TO? Wouldn't that be interesting. The 49ers team spokesman has said they are not interested but strangely G.M. Scot McCloughan said he wouldn't close the door on it. He seems to say that about everyone regardless if he has even the slightest bit of interest, but you would think he would have learned after the Michael Vick yapping ...
The Saints have signed former Bills corner Jabari Greer to a 4 year deal after failing to sign Ron Bartell of the Rams over the weekend...
The Redskins kept going on day one bring back a familiar face, guard Derrick Dockery who spent two years in Buffalo after signing a ridiculous 7 year $49 million deal. The Redskins gave him 5 years for $26 million. Add the $18.5 million he got in 2 years from Buffalo and it's 7 years for $44.5 million so still not bad for him...
The Detroit Lions need help at corner. First they are turned down in a trade attempt to get Ken Lucas from Carolina when he said he didn't want to go there. Other options are being signed as well. So they turn their attention to other positions receivers Nate Washington and Michael Clayton will visit as will guard Derrick Dockery...
The Patriots got another big name running back to add depth. This year it's former Jaguars RB Fred Taylor who comes in to make a splash. This wil be the best addition since Corey Dillion for the Patriots backfield. Taylor is getting up there in years but has something left and could be a steal for the Patriots. The Bills were also interested, but the Patriots won out...
