Minnesota Vikings

  • So Kurt Warner belonged in the desert, so Ray Lewis belongs in Baltimore and both finally happened. Ray has agreed to a 3 year deal worth just over $7 million per to stay with the Ravens, but they didn't stop there. They also replaced center Jason Brown who signed with the Rams earlier with former Vikings center Matt Birk. In Birk they get a solid but older center who also got a 3 year deal...
  • T.J. Houshmandzadeh had a hard time picking his new team but in the end.... he chose the Seahawks and a 5 year $40 million deal with $15 million guaranteed. Now the Seahawks have to he can help solve their receiver problems. They though the same thing when they got Deion Branch years back, oops. They thought that when they signed Nate Burleson... what were they thinking then? Houshmandzadeh on paper will help them, now will that be enough?

Cincinnati now will have to keep Chad Johnson and find a replacement for a solid contributor on offense for years. As if they didn't have other needs to fill...
  • With the trade complete for QB Sage Rosenfels and a new contract done in Minnesota the Vikings have released QB Gus Frerotte who went 8-3 as a starter last year. Rosenfels had one year left on his deal and got an extension for 2 more years and $9 million in new money. Not sure how this is a great swap but time will tell. The Vikings have also resigned TE Kleinsasser to a deal worth $3 million per year...
  • Two years after stupidly giving then former Redskins guard Derrick Dockery a 7 year $49 million deal, the Bills have released him. Hey GMs don't spend big bucks on guards... it doesn't work ok! So Steve Hutchinson gets paid and then every other guard thinks they are worth more. Hutch was / is special, the rest of these guys don't deserve the money and the teams regret it period...
  • The Texans have agreed to trade backup QB Sage Rosenfels to the Vikings for a 4th round pick. Hmnn he did ok filling in for Matt Schaub, but this was their big move at quarterback? Ugh. Jeff Garcia would have been a great signing but Childress is hanging his job on a competition of backups, good luck with that...
  • What is it with the constant reports of Michael Vick. So he's maybe getting out of jail, lucky him. Now teams feel compelled to say they are not interested in him. If they don't or don't flatly say they wouldn't like the 49ers did they are supposedly interested... please so called journalists, get a life. Let the dog killer go, he has to get past the commish anyway and he wasn't a great QB to start with. Add in the time off and who is going to hand him a starting job and tailor their offense to him... next...
